To take diverse ideas for the material stainless steel and put them into practice – this was the vision that moved Dieter Glahs and Gerhard Welkener to start up the company GLA-WEL in Friesenweg in the centre of Melle in 1996. Today GLA-WEL manufactures extremely complex metal components, from stair banisters and floodwater bulkheads to exclusive air-conditioned dog trailers, for the police, for example.
With the new production hall, covering 4,000 square metres, and the new office building with around 800 square metres, GLA-WEL can now bundle its entire production activities at the Denkmalsweg premises and thus optimise the process workflows.
In the entrance area, visitors are welcomed at a reception desk from the basic C product line from werner works. The waiting area was furnished with benches from the K-Modul Sit product line.
The neighbouring open kitchen is the central focal point for the administration and a meeting area for staff and visitors. The K-Modul Stand standing-height tables were selected to harmonise with the other furnishings.
For the conference area, werner works created a customised meeting table that perfectly suited the size of the room.
In the open-space office, gliding and sliding-door cupboards, three files high, are combined with desks from the basic C range. Room modules provide a visual barrier for the technical equipment units.
