At SPJ School in London Hammersmith, a contemporary learning environment has been created that brings together architecture, communication, and functionality. The project includes a variety of spatial typologies - from open atrium areas and welcoming reception zones to library spaces, classrooms, and specialist learning environments.
A central design approach was the seamless integration of storage into the architecture. Wall-to-wall installations and precisely fitted elements structure the spaces while supporting orientation and everyday usability. The result is a clear, calm spatial organization that encourages both focused learning and informal interaction.
Customised configurations of the basic S storage system were developed to fit perfectly within the architectural framework. The systems are not only used for storage but also define spaces, integrate niches, and create opportunities for retreat and concentration - such as built-in seating and reading areas.
Elements from the basic flow system complement the concept, particularly in open and communicative zones. Together, the systems provide a versatile and coherent solution that combines functionality with a strong design identity.
The interplay of materials, colours, and precise detailing results in a harmonious overall appearance, supporting the diverse needs of a modern school environment.
